Personal Geographies
My MFA thesis, Personal Geographies: (Re) Imagining Paths of a Diasporic Existence is an autoethnographic craft exploration on themes of colonialisms (plural because there are many and they intersect in many ways), migration and belonging. It examines, through a combination of traditional craft, and digital design and fabrication, the holistic creation and embodiment of the conceptual and material knowledge of my Black diasporic immigrant experience into objects that renegotiate my relationship between multiple colonized spaces.

Canadian Women in Craft: A Conversation
The pandemic has been a wake-up call for many of us to re-evaluate the things that motivate, inspire, and heal. We are on journeys of trying to find balance. With Canadian Women in Craft: A Conversation, I wanted to provide a window into the vulnerable, the technical, the political, from women at different stages of their careers. There is much that I feel that we can learn from each other in navigating the field.

“Threading Black” Exhibition
It has been a pleasure to take a look at some of the work of Eva Birhanu and Simone Saunders. There is much I related to when I first saw what they were working on, and there is much to appreciate about the care they put into their craft.

Kumihimo Shoelaces
My foray into kumihimo braiding has been a lesson in not cutting corners with my yarn lengths.

Exploring 3D Printing
I learned firsthand the joys of running a 3D printer in 55% humidity.
